Snap Mail allows you to search for mail items based on a string of text. Both “Find” and “Find Again” are available.
• Find
If you choose “Find...” from the Snap menu or use the Cmd-F keyboard command, a window will appear in which you can enter your text string. (Your text string can be a word or any part of a word or combination of characters.) If you click on the “OK” button or hit “Return,” Snap Mail will search for any mail item containing the text string. When a matching mail item is located, it will be opened and the text string that was found will be highlighted.
The checkbox labeled “Match Text Case” can be checked if you want to find only words that share the same usage of uppercase and lowercase as the text string. Otherwise, the case(s) of the text string are ignored.
The checkbox labeled “Search Subject Only” can be checked if you want Snap Mail to search only the subject lines of the mail items. This produces a faster search.
If no match is found, a beep will sound.
• Find Again
If you choose “Find Again” from the Snap menu or use the Cmd-G keyboard shortcut, Snap Mail will search for the next occurrence of your text string. This allows you to quickly search through many matches until you find the correct one. A beep will sound when Snap Mail cannot find any more matches.
